Testing types of soaps

Name of experiment: testing types of soaps

Group names: Khamani, Jaszariah, Shylo, Cloey, Maia, Jay Jay, Kamo

Change question: What will happen in each soap? Will they react differently and why?

Observations:
We think it will go all puffy and they all will react a bit different than each of them.

Video/ Photo link:
This is what other peoples ivory soap experiment looks like.
Conclusion/ Answer to your question:
Each soap reacted differently and some raised high and most of them expanded.
Each soap did react differently because the pink soap reacted differently in the way were it would rise and puff up.

Extending the learning

I wonder questions (Trying new things):
I wonder if the soap will explode?
I wonder if the soap will turn huge and puffy?
I wonder if the different kinds of soap will turn out the same?

Comparing Original (Experiment with trying my new ideas):
We tried putting in different soaps in instead of just using ivory soap we used pink soap,  we were going to use dove soap, we used protex soap There were all sorts.

Fire

Fire

The smoke coming from the fire flies over the land fluttering,
wiping out the mother nature. Its wings spread across the land.
The fire covers over the land. Forests perish’s
before some even get to live.
The smoke travels, it can get to the sea and
cover the fresh air poking and glooming at
the fishing boats below. It swings side to side
spreading in each second scaring fish, throwing
people off balance. The fire attacks the bushes and trees burning them down.
The fire crushes them. The fire flies high above like a red fiery orange phoenix
scavenging for food. Eating each tree and bush.
It incursion its prey. Fire pauses
to look at the destruction it has done then once more it fights the water and vanishes.
But once it comes back raging and
replying every time raging more and more then once
again will die but i new fire shall be born terrorising
the people and forests killing mother nature.
But just like fire she will be re-born once
more but will suffer. Soon she shall become
stronger, she will re-do all forests because she is powerful and a goddess. She watches
over us and the forest. The darkness coming from the smoke lurks in the shadows helping
the fire plan when to appear and destroy , then beat the sap out of the trees, logs and the
wet oily water on the leaves wiping every inch of it out. Maia

The ocean

Ivory soap experiment.

This is the experiment me and the girls did before.

Name of experiment: 20   Ivory Soap
Group names: Cloey,Kamo,and Jaszaiah,Khamani,Maia,Shylo,Petra,JayJay

Change question: How can you change a normal block of soap into puffy clouds?

Prediction: I think that the soap will rise after we let it cool down.I think we will see clouds with
different smells.

Observations: I saw the soap expand into a big puffy marshmallow.

Video/link
This is how the puffy cloud ture out to be.It looked like a 30 year old sponge and
It looked like a egg with know yolk.
With more heat it kept rising and expanding.

Link:
Conclusion/ Answer to your
question: it expanded
a little bit and it went taller.
Why? This happened because
the heat made the air
inside push up
(expanded….get bigger)
When it is cold the gas is small
and when it
heats up it expands.
It can push the soap because it is
hot and this makes the soap soft to
push bubbles into the soap.
The air is trying to escape.

Extending the learning

I wonder questions (Trying new things):
I wonder if it will expand or not or stay normal.
I wonder what will happen if you heat it more.
I wonder what would happen if you tried different soaps.
Sunlight soap, wonder soap, dove soap.
I wonder if you could make a sculpture
using this process.
I wonder if you combined to soaps to
create something different.

Comparing Original (Experiment with trying my new ideas):
I think that we should of
Got ivory soap but anyway we tried the normal soap.

Research on topic: (Links)
Solids, liquids and gases are made of particles...
This causes the particles to move

more and the solid to change into a liquid.

Me and my classroom was doing art yesterday. We where using shapes to make stuff.
Here's a photo off what i made with squares. It has some of my favourite colours.
I just love the look of it and makes me feel flowery. It looks exactly like a flower.

READING

We use cards as we read are chapter books and if we are doing it the we get to take that card that says what we are doing.

The target group have a piece of paper and they talk about what is happening in it and then we ask them questions and they answer the. 🕮

Cyclone Tube Tornado in a Bottle ~ Incredible Science

WALT: About change

SCIENCE

We experiment and each time we fail or be successful we try a different way.

We write information about how it works and what we did.

We also use videos and photos to show you instead  of writing every thing.

WALT: Improve times tables.

MATHS

We use khan academy  to do are tables and other maths things.

We also use online testing were we can learn all are times tables.

I think that this is good for us because soon we will be able to do any kind of tables and we will be good at dojng maths and can teach others.

We mitt be able to become a teacher and help other kids.

WALT: We change the action.

ART

We learnt how to draw stick figures.

We used quick lines silently.

We use photographs and copy them.

I'm learning to Organise detail in paragraphs

WRITING

We made a plant to help us with intros and middle and end of the story.

We also used a mind map to help us with are ideas and to keep are detail organised.

My speech about plastic bags and how bad they are

I have seen rubbish floating around in the sea. This is bad for our sea
creatures because they can die from eating plastic bags.

All sea animals can become extinct all because of plastic bags.

I think that this is becoming worse each day.
This affects dolphins, turtles, whales, fish ! Because fish eat the plastic and whales do to and get tangled in fishing nets.
 Dolphins eat the plastic to.
This is badder than ever because not just sea creatures die birds do
because
they eat plastic ludes and other plastic things.
Other animals that
live on land die.  Not just our sea animals are dying
we are also piloting are water.
I believe we will soon not be able to go swimming
because of all the plastic and trash floating around.

We can solve this by Stop using plastic bags and instead use cloth
bags and other stuff that aren't plastic.
We also should stop dumping rubbish anywhere and instead pick it
up and throw it in the bin.
This will stop piloting are water and keep are animals safe and happy.
This will mean that we can go swimming and keep are beach
and water clean.

Mangrove swamp

Mangrove swamps are coastal wetlands found in tropical and
subtropical regions.
The swamps have salt water and the trees love it.
That's how the trees grow.

Mangrove have adapted in salty water to grow.
These wetlands are mostly found in estuaries, where
fresh water meets salt water.
Florida's southwest coast supports
one of the biggest Mangrove swamps in the world.
Four species of tropical Mangroves
can be found around Gulf  of Mexico.
Extensive root systems protect the
coast from storms damages.
Mud-skippers are fish that can breath both
in and out of water.people use kayaks to explore
the mangroves without disturbing the wildlife.
Banded sea kraits swim underwater, but come to
the surface to breath.
cow-nose rays are a type of stingray they live in
mangrove swamps like all the others type of snakes & fish
living there.

Black Mangrove is the most common mangrove in the
united states.
Mangroves live in the sea. Mangroves can make islands,
they start with a small
one then gets bigger.
Their seeds fall from the tree and will grow roots as soon
as they touch any kind of soil. During low tide, they may fall in
soil rather than water and start growing where they fell.

The fox i drawed by myself

Info about the weather in alaska and Architecture

Architecture
The climate in south central Alaska, with Anchorage as a typical city, is mild by Alaskan standards. This is due in large part to its proximity to the coast. While it doesn't get nearly as much rain as the southeast of Alaska, it does get more snow, although days tend to be clearer here.

any weather-related myths surround Alaska’s temperatures and climate.

One of the most common is that Alaska temperatures in summer are cool.

In fact, like much of the United States, Alaska has four seasons and weather records at both ends of the thermometer.

Alaska’s summers are warm with temperatures that can reach into the 90°s. Ft.

Yukon holds the all-time record with a sizzling 100°F temperature recorded in 1915.

Many believe that the far northern part of Alaska would be the coldest. Actually, the record for Alaska (and the entire U.S. for that matter) was set in 1971 at Prospect Creek in the northern interior: a bone-chilling -80°F! When compared to high readings near 90°, Alaska temperatures range is an astonishing 170°.
